My name is Benjamin Harrison. I am a adult convert to the Catholic faith entering the Church at Easter of 2001. I was more or less an Atheist in my teenage and early adult life, and had no interest in God or faith. In my mid twenties, I went through some tough personal issues and was desperate for answers. Jesus Christ came into my life by a coworker who was sharing his faith with me. I attended his Church, a Non Denominational Protestant Church. I gave my heart and life over to Jesus Christ and was baptized. As I grew in my relationship with God and scripture, I was confronted with the early Church fathers. This opened up a whole world of history, Theology and faith that I had not been exposed to. I had been thoroughly indoctrinated about how wrong other protestant sects were, and how bad the Catholic Church was. I initially tried to justify my stance on understanding scripture, but at every turn I was confronted by the reality of the Catholic teaching on what Christianity was and is. Since I am stubborn, it took awhile to humble myself and realize the truth of Christ's Church. I have been looking for a ministry to get involved in and I am glad SPSE exists. God bless you!
