A Word about Success & Failure

When you lead a Seeker Small Group, you are contributing to building the kingdom of God. Experiencing failure in some area or another is a given. Some participants are going to quit coming. Some groups will experience long periods of dryness through no fault of their own. Some groups will be told by their parishes that they are not needed.

World famous businessman and speaker Dale Carnegie noted that “Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success.” His only rule for overcoming worry is to pray. Whenever you find yourself discouraged or wondering if you should go on, turn to prayer. There are more than 7,000,000,000 people in the world. Each one of them has a heart and a soul that is loved by God and meant to return that love to Him. Your small group will be a key ministry in your community if you prepare well, pray well, pick up your cross, live as a disciple, and go outside of your comfort zone to make invitations.

And Jesus said, “With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use for it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown upon the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth; yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes the greatest of all shrubs, and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.” Mark 4:30-32

Go forth, and make disciples.
