Thanks for the question. Are you familiar with Rastafarianism? It’s a religion, and to some extent, a movement. It was made popular by and through Jamaican celebrities and songsters like Bob Marley, Peter Touch, Burning Spear… in the Reggae genre. There may be different sub-denominations of Rastas, one being the “12 Tribes of Israel”. The key figure for the Rastas is Emperor Haile Selassie, who they refer to as (or believe to be) the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, and Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah.
Well, I probably should not have said “strange belief” as that sounds pretty harsh and Rastas do use the Holy Bible and recognize Christ Jesus, if only as a profit. Anyway, there was a departure from Catholicism towards Rastafarianism.

Hey Talbottofs,
Your initial steps for this exercise make me curious about how you have progressed since early June. It is great that you have diversity in persons’ backgrounds. I have just started the course and am now on my way to the first practice session with a person I met only two weeks ago. It feels like the kind of challenge you faced and I’m sure we will meet greater challenges when reaching out to strangers. I pray you are doing well.

the course is a rich resource with needed teachings and guidance on what the catholic outreach in evangelization is and isn’t. I enjoyed it and found going through without breaks was easy as the delivery is engaging.

My brother and my son-in-law are “given” to me as persons for whose coming back to the faith and conversion, respectively, I should pray. One is a lapsed catholic who has strayed into a strange belief and the other is a lapsed Christian from a Pentecostal church.
