• Tempe, AZ Team Leader • Started with SPSE in 2014 Please tell us a bit about yourself My wife and I have been married since 1991 and we have three grown children. I am a convert to the faith. Can you tell us a little bit about your team? Our team is made up of evangelists who either go out often or a few times each year. We always encourage faithful Catholics to become street evangelists! What led you to SPSE? After converting from atheism to Catholicism I noticed that, at the time, Catholics do not evangelize. I found this to be very confusing because, if Catholicism is true (which it is) Catholics should be sharing the Gospel all the time! I found out about St. Paul Street Evangelization on Facebook (I no longer use Facebook) and felt compelled to get involved. What is the relationship between evangelization and your spiritual life (prayer)? We are called to evangelize. Prayer is vital for fostering our relationship with God. Without prayer evangelization can become more like a hobby rather than a calling to share the Gospel with charity. Is there a scripture passage that you turn to often, or a favorite part of mass? I love the Mass and receiving our Lord and Savior (body, blood, soul and divinity) in the Eucharist is my favorite part. The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith! Can you share an "elevator speech" version of your testimony of God's work in your life? I was always a truth seeker. I was (and still am) amazed that God called me to faith and led me out of darkness. I am grateful for all of the blessings He has bestowed on me over the years. What is one thing that sets the Tempe (and other Phoenix area teams) apart from other teams? We do not let 115 degree temperatures prevent us from going out to share the Good News!
