It sounds like you had good dialogue with your family and feel comfortable with the Kerygma!

You hit all the key points of the Kerygma. God wants us to be with Him, sin separates us, Jesus founded the Church to bring us back to the Father. Great work on the assignment!

That’s great! The first step is for them to have that positive association and bridge of connection. I’m sure there will be more opportunities as you intercede for them, show kindness, and continue being an example of the faith.

How did the interaction go? Did your proclamation of the Gospel make sense to your friend?

I can relate! It’s really tough seeing someone fall away over time 🙁
That’s also a tough situation for evangelization due to it being a work environment. But after 9 years, I know you care for this person a lot and you have the best intentions.

Start by keeping it simple, intercede for Jamie regularly, show kindness and Christian example in the way that you live (especially if you get the opportunity to serve her in some way).

If you get small chances to talk about faith, I would suggest trying to establish and re-establish common ground throughout the conversation. And no one can deny personal testimony, so you can always share the tiny blessings of your day/life to give her some positive light-hearted interactions with the faith. Sometimes that can look as simple as, “My weekend was great! I did this special event with my church…”

We’ll continue to pray for your friend as you go through the course and grow in the next steps of proclaiming. That does seem to be the hard part when it comes to people we see more often.

I like your idea of starting out by learning what she loves to get on the topic of love. You could also try offering a gift to start the conversation, such as a rosary or miraculous medal. Or perhaps give little testimonies instead of your full personal testimony.. like, Praise God this happened to me today! Or mention the little things Jesus has done in your day, while still using His name. Something small may get the ball rolling towards a discussion about faith.
