Just closing my eyes and thinking about it got me to realize how many people who are my next-door neighbors are people I should pray for. It also let me know that I’m not really that good a neighbor to them because I rarely visit with them or talk to them. But I do visit some friends regularly, as well as our men’s poker group, who seem to have rather open standards of living that I believe need prayers: they are very good, helpful, loving people, but I get the distinct impression that God is not very near to their hearts. It will be very interesting to see who the Spirit leads me to pray for and who needs my prayers the most. I’ll keep you posted.
