My walk with the Holy Spirit has been going on for many years. I hope everyone does and benefits from this activity. I attended a Life in the Spirit Seminary in 1985 and was on fire for the Lord. Scripture was alive, Jesus was alive. As my personal testimony will tell you, I fell away, backslid, got caught up by the world, flesh & devil. But “The God Who Pursues” came after me when my grandson was making his First Holy Communion. There was NO ONE in my family to go to Holy Communion with him except his parents. That brought me to my knees, and to the confessional.

Since then, I attended a “Power & Purpose” Conference at Steubenville and a conference from Encounter Ministries both of which filled me with more of the Holy Spirit. As a result, I joined a healing ministry and actually got to use the word gifts, calling out words of knowledge for those who would be healed that night. One afternoon, we prayed for a prophetic word and went out into the community based on the word we got and looked for the people we saw. We prayed with them and let them know God had sent us expressly to them. It was then I realized that our healing ministry was too comfortable for me, and I studied more and more about evangelization. After all, Jesus performed signs and wonder to preach the Gospel, right?

I will use this prayer, if not for 8 days before, but at least the day before EVERY outing we do, to ask the Lord for a prophetic word about the people we meet. Imagine the conversions possible when people believe because you had a word for them from God. About a month ago, i did that very thing. i walked up to a parishioner in church whom i barely knew and told him that in prayer, “the Lord told me He wants you to consider becoming a deacon, does that make any sense to you?” He blushed as said, yes, it does, I’ve been considering it for quite awhile. Can you imagine what that word from the Holy Spirit did for him?? Come Holy Spirit, set the world on fire!

Sometimes you just need to sit and “Gaze at Jesus while He gazes at you.” Be loved!

I have shy-ed away from being a sidewalk counselor at the abortion clinic down the road in our city. With SPSE now, I will go with a friend with our pamphlets and be prepared to preach the kerygma and pray with people. Perhaps that will help!

That’s amazing, so many praying. Our church is not equipped to have an adoration chapel. We go to the next community where there is a separate chapel with a code for entrance that is 24/7. I used to go late at night, but now mostly on Sunday or during the day. It’s wonderful that your parish has enough adorers to keep it going. Blessings to you!

I have started using the Divine Office app. I try to at least do those morning & evening prayers. I especially like the readings for the day because they are sometimes homilies of early church fathers or things you don’t read elsewhere. When I am pressed for time, I do at least pray when my feet hit the ground in the morning to offer up my day, and make an exam when I go to bed at night. 3:00 in the afternoon is my usually Rosary and Divine Mercy time. I heard a homily from Fr. Altman about keeping the Lord’s Day holy. He starts his “Lord’s Day” around 6pm on Saturday, because by 6 pm on Sunday, he’s getting ready for his work week. Since hearing that homily, I not only don’t go shopping or do housework or yard work on Sunday, I specifically do spiritual reading, go to Adoration and honestly give the whole day to the Lord. I really look forward to that time with the Lord. A couple of friends have also started going to Adoration on Sunday afternoon. We smile a lot!!

I particularly liked this segment of the course. Too often we go about the busyness of church or our lives and forget to pray. It is obvious things go better with prayer!

God bless you. We were going door to door with the Legion of Mary, but now since these trainings I feel so much more equipped. After a few street encounters, we will probably start door-to-door again. So many in my community do not belong to any church. I will pray for your ministry. Always pray your guardian angel speaks to their guardian angel as you approach the door. Isn’t this a wonderful ministry?

I asked a stranger who came to pray the Rosary with us where he goes to church. He admitted he comes to church once in awhile but has not been to confession or Holy Communion for 13 years. We talked briefly because I was leading the Rosary, but he did take a pamphlet on How to Make a Good Confession, and Catholics Return to Your Church. I hugged him and told him Mother Mary want to take him to her Son in the Holy Eucharist. I hope to see him at our September 8th Rosary. This time I will get his contact info and perhaps ask if he want to meet me at Confession.

I belong to a healing ministry so I am very comfortable going up to people and asking how I can pray for them. I approached an older gentleman with tremors after Mass today. He asked for prayers for anger and alcohol addiction. He was happy to get a Miraculous Medal. He went to Holy Communion, but I think he need Confession. We’ll talk about that if he comes back to Mass.

How beautiful that the Holy Spirit prompted you to share a different part of your story than you planned. You never know, it may have been something your friend needed to hear. It is also amazing that you learned something new about yourself in the exercise. Isn’t God good??

I had the chance to practice my personal testimony with my son. He knew some of it, but not my personal feelings/spiritual side. He doesn’t really believe in God, I guess he’s glad I do, but he’s courteous enough to listen. Hopefully my struggle will open a door for him. On a lighter side, when I got to the “before Jesus” part, he wanted to know what sins I possible could have committed. I told him I would share that with him if he became a priest! Thank God for these exercises.

It’s good to practice outloud. Sometimes, I just record it on my phone. It helps collect my thoughts. You much have wonderful, patient children that they let you practice on them. I have practiced the kerygma with friends at church. Their reaction was affirming. I will keep asking, perhaps I can also get recruits for my team. I also ordered the holy cards with the kerygma scriptures in case I get nervous. I have to practice keeping it short! Please pray for me!

I have prayed the Consecration to Mary for my family members who are away from the church. Perhaps you could try that. I’ve also done the St. Joseph Consecration, but maybe I’ll repeat and ask for the intercession of the Terror of Demons! God Bless you and your ministry. I lift you up in prayer!

I have two people in mind right now. Actually, I’ve been praying for 2 years for 10 family members who are away from the Lord or just nominally Catholic. For this activity, I picked one family member and one new person I met on the street who has been away from Confession for 13years. I will see him again if the Lord will send him back to our public Rosary on September 8th. I continue to pray for divine appointments and opportunities to talk about the Lord. The other family member, I had an open opportunity this weekend…speaking about “Good Fathers” I made the comparison to God our Father. Hopefully this tidbits will open doors.
