I am very sorry you (or your friend) went through this situation. Was it recent or among time ago? This should not have happened. The clergy in the church are supposed to help people, not hurt them. They were not living out the call of their responsibilities. God will ultimately judge them according to this sin. It is a sin. It is condemnable. I am still Catholic though, yes, because of the graces ad promises God offers through Catholic Church for my salvation and others such as confession and the Eucharist. The Catholic Church has members that are still sinners. There isn’t any institution on earth that doesn’t have sinners/human brokenness.
Do you mind if we pray together for healing? (Pray)
I would encourage you to come back to the Catholic Church at a different parish and find true healing and renewal in Christ.
