Really no need for any reconciliation. It’s nice to spend more time with her. I hope she will come and witness the sacraments for her own conversion.

So, one person that the Holy Spirit continues to bring to my heart and for whom I have been interceding for in daily prayer is my mother. While she is not a argumentative atheist she disagrees with Evangelization as a concept. I can remember comments from the past about how people should not talk about Jesus in public. Being almost 40 now and actually growing up in a broken home and away from her beginning at age 12 it is interesting that we now both live in Florida about 30 minutes from each other. She moved here from Michigan, and I moved here for military service.

Since, I have begun intentionally praying for her conversion, the Lord has given me more opportunities to just be around her. Just the other night she and my stepfather invited my wife and I out to dinner, out of the blue. Something that hasn’t happen much in the two years we have lived close to each other. I don’t feel a need to really bring up Jesus in conversation, just to try and be a good witness. We do talk about street evangelization and other things at the parish. Last year my youngest was baptized and I invited her to the sacrament, she declined. This year I have another son who will receive our 1st Communion, I also have been praying that she might attend.

This was tough to write. The last thing I want is to scandalize my mother. I am just trying to be open.
