One Good Reason Course 5 – Lesson 11 Study Questions

  1. How would you explain the indefectibility of the Catholic Church?
  2. How would the arguments for natural law apply to human speech? Does morality bear on how we communicate to people (hint: think of the proper end — or perfection — of speech)?
  3. What would you say to somebody who says they don’t need the Church, because they can just go directly to God in prayer? 
  4. Somebody says they used to be Catholic until all the scandal broke out. They’ve decided they’d rather not support an institution that has covered up cases of sexual abuse. How would you both A) sympathize with their concerns and B) encourage them to rediscover Catholicism? 
  5. A practicing Catholic says they just don’t get very much out of Mass. They complain that it’s a “dry experience.” How could you help them discover the deeper meaning and beauty of Mass?
