• Regional Missionary in the San Diego area • Started with SPSE in 2016 Describe your team - size, location and frequency of evangelization outings, other team gatherings As a regional missionary, Paul works with other teams in the San Diego area with a goal of gathering with them monthly for fellowship. Paul also evangelizes at the San Diego Embarcadero along the bay. You can find him with about 5 other evangelists every Sunday from 2 to 4. In June they resumed their outings for the first time since the quarantine. How has God worked in and through your SPSE work? Each team member has different gifts. One member speaks five languages and has a gift for prayer. Others have a gift for engaging people in conversation and establishing a rapport. Even though some may be more outgoing than others, everyone is able to make contact and connect with our visitors. All share the same passion for the Faith. What motivates you to evangelize? Jesus is the one who can transform our lives, the reason why the gospel is referred to as the "Good News." St. Paul uses the expression "ambassadors for Christ." In order to be an effective ambassador, you need a strong prayer life. The witness of St. Paul and St. Peter in their devotion to evangelization guides me. In reading their letters and the Acts of the Apostles, it is amazing how they dedicated their lives to the Faith. Is there an obstacle you have overcome while leading your team? Realizing that others have a different style of evangelization and that there is not a single approach to sharing the Faith. I am amazed at the passion each of us has and how supportive each member is of one another. In addition, a common obstacle is the fear of interacting with strangers. Can you share an "elevator speech" version of your testimony of God's work in your life? It is only through God's presence in my life that I have come to know myself and have found true peace and joy in being myself. God gives the greatest gifts.
