Many Catholics, for various reasons, have strayed from the faith or completely fallen away. Some have adopted beliefs from the secular world – regarding same sex marriage, birth control, or abortion, for instance. Others have picked up beliefs from Protestantism or New Age spiritual practices. Others still have left the Church because of scandals. All of these are serious issues, and they deserve a serious response. Evangelists should be equipped with compassionate and well-reasoned responses so they can effectively engage these issues in conversation with strayed or fallen-away Catholics. That’s what this One Good Reason is all about: Returning the lost sheep to the fold.
