Theology of Evangelization Course 3 – Lesson 10 Transcript

Practical Activity

Hi! By now, you know who I am and can probably guess what it’s time for. Yep, the practical activity!

Marcus Peter focused a lot on the Sacrament of Baptism, and how it is the gateway to a life of holiness and, ultimately, our salvation in Jesus Christ. Thus, the heart of this practical activity is to grow in thankfulness to God for the gift of Baptism and Salvation. To do this, I have 4 steps for you to follow.

The first step is to look up the date of your Baptism (if you don’t have it already memorized). Then, spend some time in quiet prayer thanking God for that day and for the grace of continual sanctification that he’s working in you, right at this moment.

The second step: The Saints have written a lot over the centuries about salvation. Choose any short excerpt from their writings on salvation. Meditate upon it and write down some thoughts. Here are some examples. You can pause this video to write down what interests you.

The third step: we have to recognize that thankfulness is born in the heart and demonstrated in action. Make a small commitment to be more appreciative of this gift of Salvation. An example of this would be to commit to a short time each day to thanking God for the gift of salvation. Another would be to celebrate the baptism-days of you and your family members each year. A third example would be to regularly dedicate rosary prayers to meditating on the gift of salvation.

Before you conclude the activity, please post in the Community Forums about your experience doing this activity. There is a specific thread in the forums where you can write about your experience. In addition, give a constructive question or comment about the lesson, or on somebody else’s post on their experience doing the practical activity. All of this is required for your Theology of Evangelization certificate of completion!
